The rumors that Final Fantasy XV was going to be delayed (first reported by Kotaku), have been offiicially confirmed by Square Enix. The game was supposed to be released in September, but the official release date has been pushed back until November 6th, 2016. Luckily the game only suffered a minor delay and hopefully that means a better product on the back end that all gamers and fans of the franchise can enjoy.
The games director Hijime Tabata has this to say about the delay, “From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this.”
Hijime Tabata's full statement can be seen below. Hopefully the game will be well worth the wait!
