Trigun Stampede is a new anime series featuring the character Vash The Stampede, also known as the Humanoid Typhoon. It marks Vash's return to the anime world after a decade-long absence since the release of the feature film Trigun: Badlands Rumble in 2010. The new series is being produced by Studio ORANGE and is being overseen by Yasuhiro Nightow, the creator of the Trigun franchise. The series will premiere at 8:30 am PST this Saturday on January 7th and will showcase a new CG (Computer Generated) animation style. It will be available for the following territories: North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, the Philippines, Singapore, India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepa, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Not much is unknown about Trigun Stampede, including whether it will be a prequel to the original story or a completely new interpretation of the character. Vash does sports a new look in the series and the new look pays homage to his original appearance. He will also be joined by younger versions of familiar characters such as Millions Knives, Wolfwood, Meryl, and others.

A sneak peek was released by Crunchyroll today, as well as an exclusive English subtitled clip from the first episode that has been shared by IGN. Combine those with the trailer that was released last month (all of which are included below) and fans can get a decent preview of the highly-anticipated upcoming anime series.

The upcoming Trigun Stampede anime based upon the original Trigun manga, with the animation being produced by CG Studio Orange.

The Japanese Voice Cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Vash the Stampede, Sakura Ando as Meryl Stryfe, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Nicholas D. Wolfwood, Kenji Matsuda as Roberto De Niro, Junya Ikeda as Millions Knives, Koki Uchiyama as Legato Bluesummers, TARAKO as Zaz ie the Beast, Ryusei Nakao as William Conrad, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Young Vash, Yumiri Hanamori as Young Knives, and Maaya Sakamoto as Rem Saverem.

The Trigun manga series was written and illustrated by Yasuhiro Nightow. It was originally published in the magazine Monthly Shōnen Captain from 1995 to 1997 and then continued in the magazine Young King OURs under the title Trigun Maximum from 1997 to 2007. The series was collected in a total of 17 volumes. It is set on the planet No Man's Land and follows the story of Vash the Stampede, a famous and skilled gunman who is constantly pursued by bounty hunters seeking the large reward on his head. The plot also explores Vash's past as the narrative progresses.

The manga was inspired by Western movies, and Nightow wanted Vash to be distinct from typical cowboys by emphasizing the characters and avoiding killing. Trigun was adapted into a 26-episode anime television series by Madhouse that aired from April to September 1998. An anime film titled Trigun: Badlands Rumble was released in Japan in 2010. In North America, both the manga series and the anime series have been licensed by Dark Horse Comics and Geneon Entertainment/Funimation, respectively. The anime aired on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block in the United States in 2003.
