The world of AYAKA, a brand-new anime series that will be premiering later this year on TV in Japan, as well as be available to stream on Crunchyroll, is explored in greater depth in a new trailer! In it, we are introduced to the disciples who make their home on the island of Ayakajima, which is also the setting for the supernatural events that occur throughout the series.

Chatarou Fukuwake
Chatarou Fukuwake: CV Gakuto Kajiwara (Asta in Black Clover). A cheerful and energetic type, who sees his childhood friend Yako as his rival. More than anything else, he wants to prove once and for all who is Kurama's number one disciple.
Yako Amano

Yako Amano: CV Yuki Sakakihara (Polka Shinomiya in Dead Mount Death Play). A polite, mature boy who makes up for his lack of strength with great intelligence. However, his rival Chatarou brings out a childish, competitive streak in him.
Crunchyroll announced that the series will stream on its service in 2023!
The story follows Yukito Yanagi, an orphan who one day encounters an eccentric disciple of his father's. The strange man takes him to his birthplace on Ayakajima, made up of seven islands where mysterious beings called "Mitama" and dragons are rumored to reside. There, Yukito meets his father's two other disciples, who protect the harmony of Ayakajima… which soon threatens to collapse.
AYAKA is being directed by Nobuyoshi Nagayama (Happy Sugar Life) at Studio Blanc. Misaki Kaneko (Smile Down the Runway), Ryo Tanaka (Tribe Nine), and Kana Shibue (Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju) are responsible for the animation character designs, and redjuice (Guilty Crown) is responsible for the original character designs. GoRA is working on the scripts, and redjuice is responsible for the original character designs. The role of production designer is held by Naoya Tanaka.
