In Dragon Ball Gaiden: Tensei Shitara Yamcha Datta Ken (Dragon Ball Side Story: The Case of Being Reincarnated as Yamcha) a teenager dies and is reincarnated into the Dragon Ball World, taking over Yamcha's body. If that's not crazy enogh, the teen has seen the entire Dragon Ball Z saga and knows exactly what befalls Yamcha during all of the key arcs such as the Vegeta saga Frieza saga, etc. Armed with this knowledge, he sets out to make Yamcha the star of the DBZ world instead of Goku.
The spinoff manga will run in Shueisha's Shonen Jump and will be written and drawn by Dragon Garow Lee while Akira Toriyama is credited with as a contributor. It looks like Yamcha will actually be surviving the Saibamen this time around and might even end up with Bulma instead of Vegeta. What does this mean for Trunks?
The series will debut first digitally,
on the Shonen Jump Plus website. The first chapter is already available to read [in Japanese].
