During the Media Industry Extravaganza panel at Otakon 2023 on Friday, Discotek Media announced all of their new licenses acquired at the panel. One of the big announcements that was made was the English release of Digimon the Movies Collection 1, Digimon Season 2.
With the announcement of the Digimon films being released, the films that they licensed are Digimon Adventure (the movie), Our War Game, Hurricane Touchdown, and Digimon the Movie. In the announcement, they stated that the films will feature the original versions of the films with new uncut dubs featuring the classic cast, and Japanese audio with subtitles. Discotek Media also announced Digimon Season Two to be re-released. In the announcement they revealed that it will come out on Blu-ray with the English edition of Digimon Season 2 initially, later on, the Japanese version will follow. Features AstroRes upscaling from the Japanese masters, with extras including an art gallery. They also stated they had some issues getting it set up at first, due to the English masters being broken. So they had to use the best Japanese footage they could get, then found or recreated English tweaks, & rebuilt it. Down below is their official tweet announcement.
