As Fortnite continues to explore the world of anime, the game's next mash-up with My Hero Academia could see players embrace the League of Villains.
According to leaker HYPEX, the next wave of Fortnite x My Hero Academia's collaboration will add iconic antagonists Himiko Toga, Tomura Shigaraki, and either Dabi or Jin Bubaigawara, known as his villain name Twice.
There's no exact release date for these characters, but the next collaboration is expected to be a part of Season 2. Based on the current in-game Battle Pass, Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 2 will end on May 24, 2024, so we've still got about a month.
Fortnite has partnered with My Hero Academia in the past. Previously, the popular battle royale game has featured character skins for Izuku Midoriya, All Might, Katsuki Bakugo, and Ochaco Uraraka. Each character included their own unique weapons and accessories. There were additional cosmetics available for purchase or as rewards for completing specific quests.
A second collaboration with My Hero Academia saw the arrival of U.A.'s top heroes-in-training: Shoto Todoroki, Eijiro Kirishima, and Mina Ashido.
But in the universe of My Hero Academia, the League of Villains are just as iconic as the heroes of the series, so I'm sure players will jump at the opportunity to play as them.
Fortnite is no stranger to embracing anime. Earlier this month, the battle royale game kicked off a special event dedicated to Avatar: The Last Airbender. The "Elements" collaboration event featured special quests, a unique battle pass, and all-new gameplay mechanics inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender. Players could also purchase character Outfits inspired by Toph Beifong, Zuko, and Katara. Additionally, the God-like powers of the season were temporarily replaced by the ability to master the elements of water, earth, fire and air.
Fortnite has also previously featured cosmetics from Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball Super, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Naruto.
It's possible that the My Hero Academia collaboration in Fortnite will arrive in early May in conjunction with the debut of the anime's seventh season. Season 7 of My Hero Academia is set to kick off on May 4 at 2:30 a.m. PT / 5:30 a.m. ET, with Crunchyroll serving as the place to watch all the new episodes.
In the meantime, fans have been able to re-live all the "epic moments" of the series thus far through My Hero Academia: Memories, a mini-series consisting of four special recap episodes.
