Niantic, Inc.'s popular mobile game Pokemon Go, has recently seen a resurgence in its playerbase this year with the help from cross promotion for the new Nintendo Switch Pokemon titles, Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, as well as new game features added to the game itself throughout 2018. One of which, is 'Field Research,' which pits trainers against simple tasks that can be completed daily, and when completing 7 days (does not need to be completed in a row), it will unlock a 100% catch rate special pokemon.
The past few months have featured a return of the three 'Legendary Birds' from the first generation of Pokemon: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. They took a break from these legendary trends and brought in Snorlax last month, a lovably large and lazy 'mon, who could also be caught with a move that it can no longer learn (a 'legacy moveset').
Well, it looks like August brings back the legendary trend as the first of the second generation of Legendary Beasts will be available for a month: the Electric-type Raikou! Starting at 1 PM PST on August 1st, trainers will be able to turn in their 7th 'Field Research' day task to quickly catch this strong legendary pokemon.
This was announced just today in an official post on Pokemon Go's Twitter:
This will be the first time Raikou will make his way back into the game since being a legendary raid boss reward back in Fall of 2017. Raikou is currently the 2nd strongest Electric-type in the game, so don't miss out on the chance of catching (up to four) more Raikous next month!
