The official Sonic the Hedgehog movie Twitter account has confirmed that the first trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 video game movie will be released tomorrow during The Game Awards event which itself is set to begin at 8PM eastern time. This development was recently teased by, Geoff Keighley, the host of the annual gaming event.
The first official poster for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie sequel has been released alongside the trailer release confirmation (via Toonado).
This poster gives us our first proper look at Tails, Sonic's best friend (at least in the video games on which the films are based). Jim Carrey returns as Dr. Robotnik in the background, straddling a comical egg-shaped aircraft. And the titular speedster himself takes center stage atop Tails' plane. Ben Schwartz reprises the role, having previously played Sonic in the first instalment.
Additionally, the poster reiterates the April 8th, 2022 release date for the film sequel. That means it's unlikely to be hit with a delay in spite of the pandemic conditions the film is being produced amidst. Regardless, check out the poster for yourself below:
