While the anime adaptation of Kaiju No. 8 only recently hit the small screen, the manga that it is based on continues to expand on the stories through various spin-offs. The latest spin-off was revealed by Comicbook.com and will arrive this summer.

Although Kaiju No. 8 is known for its giant monster battles, part of what makes the anime and manga so popular is its ability to inject humor into the storytelling. To that end, the new spin-off, titled Kaiju No. 8: Relax, will focus on our heroes while they enjoy their time off.

Kaiju No. 8: Relax will make its debut on June 4th in Weekly Shonen Jump. It's the third spin-off for the manga, joining the likes of Kaiju No. 8: Exclusive on The Third and Kaiju No. 8: B-Side.

Meanwhile, the Kaiju No. 8 anime continues to make waves across the internet and is the latest much-watch series. Developed by Production I.G., the anime has done a fantastic job adapting the original source material, mixing action, comedy, and adventure.

Kaiju No. 8 is based on the incredibly popular manga which first debuted in 2020. The series is directed by Shigeyuki Miya at animation studio Production I.G. The synopsis reads:

The story revolves around Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old longing to join The Defense Force and make good on his promise to a childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. He befriends Reno Ichikawa, a new coworker, while cleaning up Kaiju remains. Reno’s determination to join The Defense Force inspires Kafka to fulfill his childhood promise to pass the entrance exam and join Mina to protect humanity. When a small Kaiju burrows itself inside Kafka, he gains superhuman strength and powers fit for fighting Kaiju. He works to earn the trust of his human teammates, defeat increasingly powerful Kaiju, and keep the world safe. Part human and part Kaiju, Kafka recognizes the creature beginning to take over more frequently, and he must fight to hold on to what makes him human.

New episodes of Kaiju No. 8 released weekly worldwide every Saturday at 7:00 a.m. PT. Dubbed versions of new episodes are also available in English, Latin American Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Castilian Spanish, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Two episodes of Kaiju No. 8 have been released thus far, with the third set to debut on April 27th. According to the Blu0ray and DVD releases in Japan, the inaugural season will run for 12 episodes.
