Jujutsu Kaisen continues to lead U.S. print manga sales. On Circana BookScan’s Top 20 adult graphic novels list for July, the first volume of Gege Akutami’s series ranked No. 2, while six additional Jujutsu Kaisen volumes also made the chart.

Volume 30 landed at No. 4, volume 29 at No. 6, volume 2 at No. 8, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 at No. 10, volume 26 at No. 16, and volume 3 at No. 18. The strong showing follows a June performance in which Jujutsu Kaisen titles occupied the top spot and multiple other positions on the same chart.

Manga accounted for 18 of the 20 places on the July list. Other notable entries included One Piece volume 112 at No. 5 and the One Piece Omnibus Edition volume 1 at No. 19. The Summer Hikaru Died volume 1 ranked No. 7, Gachiakuta volume 1 took No. 9, Chainsaw Man volume 21 placed No. 11, and Witch Hat Atelier volume 1 reached No. 12. Additional titles in the top 20 came from Phantom Busters, The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t a Guy at All, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run, Demon Slayer, and Blue Lock.

Circana BookScan (formerly NPD BookScan) tracks point-of-sale data from more than 16,000 locations across the United States, covering an estimated 85 percent of the trade print book market. Rankings reflect unit sales rather than revenue. The adult graphic novel chart excludes titles classified for the children’s market and certain text-heavy or art-book releases that some publishers categorize as graphic novels.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s persistent presence across multiple volumes illustrates the series’ unusual staying power in the North American market. Even as newer volumes release, older entries and the prequel volume 0 continue to sell in significant numbers. This pattern has repeated for many months, with the series regularly placing more titles in the top 20 than any other manga.

The July results also highlight the broader strength of manga within the U.S. graphic novel category. With 18 of the top 20 spots occupied by Japanese comics, the list shows how thoroughly manga has come to define the adult graphic novel market in recent years. Long-running series such as One Piece and Demon Slayer still chart, while newer or mid-tier titles like Gachiakuta and The Summer Hikaru Died demonstrate that fresh releases can break through alongside established franchises.

Viz Media publishes the English editions of Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, Chainsaw Man, Demon slayer, and several of the other high-ranking titles. The concentration of Viz books on the chart reflects both the popularity of its licenses and the effectiveness of its print distribution.

For Jujutsu Kaisen specifically, the July numbers show only a slight cooling from the previous month’s even more dominant performance. Seven volumes in the top 20 remains an exceptional result for any series, particularly one that has already been in English release for several years. The combination of ongoing anime interest, consistent volume releases, and strong backlist sales continues to keep Akutami’s series near the top of the American manga market.

The Circana BookScan July adult graphic novel list confirms what monthly charts have shown for some time: Jujutsu Kaisen remains the clearest commercial force in U.S. manga print sales, and manga itself remains the dominant category in the broader graphic novel market.
