Initially released in 2014, Daisuke Ashihara's World Trigger manga has been a series that talks about how two people who are raised on opposing sides of a conflict can become friends. The manga released in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump and, even with its multiple hiatuses, has managed to be a fan-favorite series still.

The manga has continued on since 2014 but has been subjected to multiple breaks in the story due to the creator's poor health. However, even with that, the readers remain fiercely loyal and patient as the new chapters come in.

Recently, the show's newest season has not only been confirmed but has also released art for the project. Now, fans can finally mark their calendars as the release date for the new season has finally been announced!

According to the show's official site, the season will release in January of next year, with the original cast returning. We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Earth is under constant threat from Neighbors, invincible monsters from another dimension that destroy our way of life. At least we have the elite warriors of Border, who co-opt alien technology to fight back! Our hero Osamu Mikumo may not be the best agent, but he'll do whatever it takes to defend life on Earth as we know it. When Osamu meets a feisty humanoid Neighbor named Yuma, everything that he thinks is right is turned on its head. Can the two natural enemies ever become friends?

The new season of World Trigger will release on January 9th!
