2017 marked the debut of Classroom of the Elite's first season on television. On February 21, 2022, it was revealed that a second installment was already in the works to be created. After some time had passed, it was discovered that the series would consist of two additional seasons.
Classroom of the Elite II is an anime series that is based on light novels written by Shogo Kinugasa and Sunsaku Tomose. The series is chief-directed by Hiroyuki Hashimoto and Seiji Kishi, and it is directed by Yoshihito Nishoji at studio Lerche. Hayato Kazano is responsible for the series composition, and Kazuaki Morita is responsible for character designs. The music is now being composed by Masaru Yokoyama and Kana Hashiguchi, who have taken Takahashi's place. The second season of Classroom of the Elite is going to make its debut on Crunchyroll on July 4.
The following is how the series is described:
In the not too distant future, the government of Japan will have established the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing School. This school's mission will be to educate and cultivate the next generation of citizens who will be responsible for the continued success of Japan. In order to more accurately simulate real life for the students, a significant amount of autonomy is granted to them.
The narrative is told from Kiyotaka Ayanokji's point of view, who is a shy and unassuming young man. He is not good at making friends and would rather keep his distance, but he possesses an intelligence that is unmatched by anyone else. He is enrolled in Class D, which is the level of education reserved for the school's least capable students. The situation starts to change after he meets two other students in his class named Suzune Horikita and Kikyō Kushida. He starts to get involved in many different affairs, and his idea of the ideal, normal high school life starts to get scattered. After passing a test of their ability to survive on an uninhabited island, they will be allowed to relax on a luxury liner before moving on to the next challenge, which will involve shuffling their class assignments around. Will you put in effort for the benefit of your school, your friends, or yourself?
The first episode of the third season will air in 2023.
