Following the success of the first live-action Tokyo Revengers film from Warner Bros. Japan, a 2-part sequel will hit Japanese theaters in 2023- with the first installment, Chi no Halloween -Unmei- (Bloody Halloween -Fate-) dropping on April 21, while the second installment, Chi no Halloween -Kessen- (Bloody Halloween -Decisive Battle-) hits Japanese theaters on June 30.  Check out the new promo video below featuring Baji (Kento Nagayama), Kazutora (Nijirō Murakami) and Chifuyu (Mahiro Takasugi).

After numerous Covid-related delays, the first live-action Tokyo Revengers film was released on July 2021 and was the #1 live-action film in Japan that year, following the anime films Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bell and the Beauty and the Beast inspired, Belle.

Takumi Kitamura returns as the titular lead character Takemichi Hanagaki, alongside Ryō Yoshizawa's Mikey and Yuki Yamada's Draken. The Bloody Halloween arc was previously covered in the second cour of the first season of the TV anime (episodes 13-24).

After winning several awards, the Liden Films TV anime adaptation of Ken Wakui's best-selling manga series premiered in April 2021 with 24 episodes. Spurred on by the success of the anime, the manga series went on to become the third best-selling manga series of 2021, with 24.9 million copies sold. Only Jujutsu Kaisen (30.9 million copies) and Demon Slayer (29.5 million copies) sold more copies in 2021. The following year, with Demon Slayer ending and many Covid restrictions lifting, Tokyo Revengers moved up to the #2 spot although it sold far fewer copies at 11.04 million.

The Tokyo Revengers manga series was first released in March 2017 and recently concluded in November 2022 at 30 volumes.

Watching the news, Hanagaki Takemichi learns his junior-high girlfriend Tachibana Hinata has died. A sudden shove sends him 12 years into the past to face the Tokyo Manji Gang that once made his life hell, which is also responsible for Hinata’s death in the present. To save Hinata and change the future, Takemichi must rise to the top of Kanto’s most sinister delinquent gang! But things aren’t so simple when he befriends the gang’s leader, Mikey. What turned Mikey from a petulant child to the leader of the most infamous gang in Tokyo?
