The second installment of Love Death + Robots drops on Netflix this Friday and the streaming platform has dropped a tantalizing new red-band teaser trailer to whet the appetites' of animation aficionados. Check it out below.
The first volume in the anthology series consisted of 18 episodes and was released two years ago in March 2019. Each installment featured a variety of animation styles ranging from traditional 2D to photo-realistic 3D CGI. The shorts all contained the sort of animated edginess that's usually reserved for anime.
The project also contained a distinct international flavor with animation studios located in Korea, France and other countries all contributing to its completion.
While Volume 2 drops this Friday, Netflix has already committed to a third volume of Love Death + Robots that will be released in 2022.
In an interview with IGN, Miller shared that he doesn't have any plans to stop at volume 3, so long as Netflix remains on board. "Why would we stop doing this as long as they let us continue to do it? I love animation, and I love animators. They're just kind of a unique breed. It’s a real honor to be able to, as Jennifer Yuh Nelson [Volume 2's supervising director] said, bring these people the project that they never thought they would get. It's really like a Santa Claus sort of moment in the best possible way.”
