We only have a few more days until My Hero Academia Season 7 makes its debut, and the voice actor of Tomura Shigaraki is hyping up one of the biggest showdowns of the season.

As you're probably well aware, Season 7 will feature the arrival of Star and Stripe, and America's Number One Hero will waste no time making their presence felt. As teased in the end of Season 6, one of the first major conflicts we'll see is a showdown between Tomura Shigaraki and Star and Stripe.

According to Shigaraki voice actor Koki Uchiyama, this fight — which is a major highlight for the season — will be one of the first real tests for the villain.

"I think the battle with Stars and Stripes in the beginning is a big highlight. In this battle, Shigaraki is having a tough time against Stars and Stripes, and his ego is still wavering," Uchiyama told Animate Times. "I myself took on the challenge with a new character image that combined All For One with the old wooden figure of Death, but it was difficult from the beginning as the battle unfolded at full throttle."

"Star and Stripe" is a major story in the original manga series, and Uchiyama also teased how the anime series actually helped elevate this epic fight.

"The original story was really interesting, but when it became an animation, I was surprised and wondered, ``Is this how it would be drawn?'' Visually, the character Stars and Stripes itself is full of highlights, so I hope you look forward to it," he said.

In addition to "Star and Stripe," Season 7 will also cover "U.A. Traitor" and the first parts of the "Final War" arc.

Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered “quirk,” Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.

My Hero Academia Season 7 is directed by Kenji Nagasaki and Naomi Nakayama at animation studio BONES. Yusuke Kuroda provides the series composition and scripts, Yoshikhiko Umakoshi and Hitomi Odashima provide the character designs, and Yuki Hayashi provides the music.

The highly anticipated seventh season of My Hero Academia will premiere in Japan on May 4, 2024, at 2:30 a.m. PT / 5:30 a.m. ET. Dubs for the series also air in English on Crunchyroll in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS, although no release dates have been announced yet.

It was recently revealed that the premiere episode in Season 7 is titled "In the Nick of Time! A Big-Time Maverick From the West!" Is this alluding to the arrival of Star and Stripe?!
