Pokemon has become one of the most iconic and beloved franchises in the world, and it has a lot to do with the amount of creativity and variety that is seen in a series that has been around for decades. Where the franchise has really found its legs (aside from the video games) has been through the anime.
The adventures of Ash Ketchum and Pikachu are as much a staple in North America as they are in Japan, and no matter what region he goes to, there is never a fear of "more of hte same." Pokemon Journeys is the most recent series airing right now, and what has made the show special is its ability to introduce some new and interesting characters but also bring back some of hte most iconic.
It has recently been confirmed that the new arc for the series will focus, somewhat, on Mewtwo, but not any Mewtwo; the same one from the first movie! The best part about the reveal is that the original Japanese voice actor, Masachika Ichimura, is returning to the role! No footage has been revealed yet, but an amazing image has been, which can be seen below.
The new arc is sure to bring back old fans and enthrall new ones with its exciting story. We would love to hear your thoughts on the news in the comment below!
This season follows the adventures of Ash Ketchum and new protagonist Goh as they travel across all eight regions of the Pokémon franchise, including the new Galar region from Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Mewtwo returns in Pokemon Journeys, in Japan, on November 20th!
