While it was released way back in 1998, Hiroyuki Takei's Shaman King has gone down as one of the best shonen series to have ever come out of Weekly Shonen Jump. The series has had multiple spin-offs that tie directly into the story while simultaneously standing on their own. With the franchise getting a second wind, the sky looks to be the limit, yet again, for the series.
It was recently announced that the comics would be getting a full release on ComiXology, with some of these volumes being translated for the first time in English. On top of that, a brand new anime has also been confirmed that will be able to properly tell the story, in comparison to what the original anime had attempted in the early 2000s.
The new anime has confirmed many returning cast members from the original series and will be animated over at Bridge, the same studio that worked on Fairy Tail. A new promo was released for the series that shows off some of the fantastic animation in store for fans.
With the series premiering in the spring of next year, there is still a lot of time before the debut to show off even more footage, and cast reveals. We would love to hear your thoughts on the video and show it in the comments below!
