Earlier this month, it was announced that the Solo Leveling series would be getting a second season. But that's not all fans of the hit anime have to look forward to.
Mobile game developer Netmarble has announced that their new action game, Solo Leveling: ARISE, will officially launch on May 8th. It will be available to download on Google Play and the App Store for Android and iOS devices, as well as on PC.
This will be the first video game adaptation of the Solo Leveling franchise, and fans are incredibly excited — as evidenced by the number of global pre-registrations.
Netmarble opened up the pre-registration for the game in March and since then over 12 million fans globally have signed up for the game. Doing so allows players to secure limited-time rewards when the game launches in May. This includes Legendary Artifact Sets, a Chic Black Suit Costume for Sung Jinwoo, two Mana Power Crystal for each attribute (10 total), and 100,000 of Gold. Additionally, all players who sign up have the opportunity to win Jinwoo’s cherished partner/hunter, Yoo Jinho, as a pre-registration reward.
Solo Leveling: ARISE is an action game in which players take on the role of Jinwoo, the main character from the webtoon, and experience his journey firsthand. Once nicknamed "The Weakest Hunter of All Mankind," Jinwoo — a former E-Rank hunter — gained access to a system that helped him become more powerful, including the ability to turn the dead into his Shadow Soldiers.
As players progress through the action-filled story, they'll level up to learn new skills and unlock different weapons, opening up dynamic combat styles depending on their combinations. Additionally, players will be able to team up with other hunters from the original webtoon, including Choi Jong-In, Baek Yoonho, and Cha Hae-In. Each hunter's abilities will help in forming strategies, combining their powers to clear each gate. Speaking of gates, inside each one are magic beasts from the original webtoon that are waiting with a new challenge.
Solo Leveling: ARISE will offer multiple game modes, including massive dungeon raids, boss replays, and Time Attack content — all in addition to a gripping action adventure story.
Solo Leveling is a South Korean web novel written by Chugong. It was serialized in Kakao's digital comic in 2016. A webtoon adaptation was serialized in KakaoPage in 2018 with illustrations by Jang Sung-rak. An anime series adaptation produced by A-1 Pictures aired from January to March 2024 with a second season, entitled Arise from the Shadow, on the way.
