Live adaptations of anime properties are incredibly physically demanding, as seen in My Hero Academia's nonstop running and acrobatics. The announcement of a stage play based on the men's gymnastics anime Backflip!! was made today suggesting that the "Ultra Stage" may soon reach an unparalleled level.
Backflip!!: The Stage Part 2 was directed and written by Yu Murai (SK8 The Infinity: The Stage Part 2). The Stage will be presented in Tokyo's Nissho Hall from October 22 to October 29. Mid-July will see the announcement of casting details.

The original anime Backflip!! is directed by Toshimasa Kuroyanagi (The Great Passage) and produced by studio ZEXCS. aired for twelve episodes starting in April 2021, and a sequel movie was released in July 2022. Crunchyroll is presently streaming both of them.

The final summer of middle school, Shotaro Futaba discovers boys gymnastics and is completely enamored by it. Shotaro ends up going to Soshukan Private High School (aka Ao High) and decides to visit the boys gymnastics club. He's greeted by very unique senpais and a star gymnast named Misato Ryoya. Dedicating your life to something you love during your fiery days of youth... Of course, there is frustration, and fights, but see how these boys work together as a team towards a similar goal in this drama about sports and youth.
