First off, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Legendary Edition was a blast to read first and foremost. It has all the characters that gamers know and love from the Nintendo 64 game that launched on November 21st, 1998. It was such a nostalgic read for me and getting past the water temple was a little bit more simple in the manga as well.
For those not familiar with the Ocarina of Time. . . It's starts in the little Kokiri village where a fairy-less boy named Link lives. The village is surrounded by a forest and it's guardian The Great Deku tree now lays ill from an enemy curse. During the night The Great Deku Tree sends a fairy to summon Link to the tree. Once there Link and his bitter rival Mido enter the tree to fish out the evil pressence that has burrowed itself within The Great Deku Tree. After gathering up their courage they finally track down the evil corruption and destroy it, but it comes at the cost of the tree. With the tree's last amount of energy, he sends Link on a journey to gather three legendary stones and turn them over to princess Zelda.
After receiving the first stone from the tree he heads off to the home of the Gorons. The Gorons are in a predicament once he arrives. They feed off certain rocks in the mountain and Link notices that the Gorons are starving. Upon investigating further, Link discovers that the guardian of the mountain has been acting strange ever since a man named Ganondorf visited. This guardian is blocking the way to the precious rocks they like. Link, in exchange for defeating the guardian receives the second stone. After freeing the Gorons of hunger and making himself an honorary Goron, he then sets off to find the third stone.
The third stone lays within Zora's Domain. He seems to be on the heals of trouble because once again he discovers that their princess has dissapeared and their guardian is also acting up after a visit from Ganondorf. The King of Zora's Domain asks Link to find princess Ruto and bring her back safely. Doing so would get him the third stone. His journey then takes him into the stomach of Lord Jabu-Jabu their guardian. After searching awhile he finds a hesitant princess within the guardian. To his dismay she doesn't want to go back because she is betrothed to another through an arranged marriage. When danger strikes the princess is more than willing to head home, but wants Link to carry her. After overcoming the evil within Lord Jabu-Jabu they finally escape. Link finally has the third stone and makes his way to Zelda's castle.
Not knowing where to go to find Zelda, he makes a deal with a girl that if he'll play with her for the day she will take him to Zelda. After spending the day creating mischief with her he discovers that the girl is indeed Zelda. That is when Ganondorf strikes and Zelda and her protector Impa have to flee, but Zelda manages to get Link everything he would need to unlock the Tri-Force. After a confrontation with Ganondorf he heads to the temple to get the Tri-Force, but it falls into the hand of Ganondorf and Link get frozen in time for seven years. After he wakes up he discovers the he is the Hero of Time and he must gather up the sages powers from different temples if he wishes to save Zelda and the changed world he lives in.
Overall this is a great manga for the fans of the Ocarina of Time arc line. The manga also has some side stories that were unfamiliar to this reader. Relive all the great moments and more with the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Legendary Edition.
