Aside from rare one-off projects, celebrity mangaka Sui Ishida has been largely quiet since Tokyo Ghoul:re concluded in 2018. However, the stellar artist just pulled a Beyonce and did a stealth release for his new series, Choujin X, which will be simultaneously published in English and Japanese.
You can actually read the first chapter for free over on Viz.com. With only the first chapter released not much is known about the series but Viz teases, "Sometimes to fight a monster, you must become one!"
Moving forward, the series will be published on Manga Plus for North American readers and the Tonari no Young Jump web service in Japan. The series won't be weekly or even monthly as it's being billed as an "irregular release" where Ishida will release new chapters "at his own pace."
With the popularity of Tokyo Ghoul, it's not hard to imagine the series receiving an anime adaptation as either a TV series or film once enough chapters have been released. If the first chapter is anything to go gy, Ishida likely has another hit on his hands.
