Pacific Rim has become a franchise that many thought burnt out way before it should have. With the first film becoming a worldwide success and the second failing to miss the mark, many wondered if there would ever be a way to get back into a jaeger again.

Earlier today, Netflix began streaming its anime festival, an event that showed fans what new anime properties they could expect to hit the service in the coming months into next year. Many new announcements were made, including a surprising appearance from Pacific Rim with a brand new show titled Pacific Rim: The Black.

The Black follows two siblings who pilot a jaeger as they make for safety while looking for their missing parents. The show looks to bring in all of the things that make the franchise great but also bring in a very real and human element to the story.

Some new screenshots and a teaser were also revealed that fans may find exciting and can be seen below! We would love to hear your thoughts on the new anime in the usual spot!
