Writer Kumo Kagyu and illustrator Noboru Kannatsuki's ongoing Goblin Slayer light novel series received a 12-episode anime adaptation in October 2018, which was followed by 2020 anime film titled Goblin Slayer: Goblin's Crown. The anime covered the first four volumes of the light novel series while the anime film chronicled the events of the fifth volume.
The final episode of the anime series ended with a special message that "Goblin Slayer would return" rather than the typical season 2 announcement that accompanies most continuing anime series. There was actually some fear within the Goblin Slayer fandom that the anime film would be the last anime adaptation for the series.
It looks like that's not the case as a season 2 announcement has officially been revealed along with a key visual. The only concerning aspect of the announcement is the fact that there's no release date accompanying the news. Typically, that means fans might be in for a lengthy wait.
"I'm not saving the world. I just kill goblins."
Rumor has it that, in a certain guild middle of nowhere, there is an extraordinary man who has climbed all the way to the Silver rank just by killing goblins. At the same guild, a priestess who's just become a new adventurer has formed her first party... and the man who ends up rescuing that party when they get into trouble is none other than the Goblin Slayer.
