A new trailer for the LIDEN FILMS original work, Child of Kamiari Month has been released.  The new footage also contains a snippet of the film's theme song, Kanna from Japanese songstress, miwa (who previously provided the 12th Bleach opening, "Change").

The film reportedly follows a young girl who loses her love for running after her mother dies. However, as evidenced by the number of Japanese mythological creatures in the trailer, there's definitely more to the story.

The original film is inspired by Kamiarizuki, which was previously the 10th month in the old, Shimane prefecture region of Japan. The word roughly translates to "the month when there are gods." Animation director Takana Shirai is credited with developing the original concept.

Child of Kamiari Month is the result of three seperate crowdfunding campaigns that first kicked off in March 2019.  The most recent campaign concluded this past June.

While there's no exact release date, Child of Kamiari Month is currently slated to hit Japanese theaters this fall. However, nothing is guaranteed when it comes to cinema release dates and COVID-19. Whenever its released, we're expecting it to be a strong contender during awards season.
