DRAGON BALL SUPER: SUPER HERO U.S. Release Date Seemingly Revealed By Poster

Ahead of its opening in Japan this week, it looks like the U.S. release date for Toei Animation's Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero has been inadvertently revealed by a poster that went up a little too early.

According to a poster spotted at a theater by an eagle-eyed Twitter user, Toei Animation's upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will open in U.S. theaters on August 19.

That's about two months after its June 11 release date in Japan, so fans will likely have to avoid spoilers for some time, but it's still a fairly quick turnaround and should make for some late summer fun for fans of the long-running anime series.

Super Hero is the first DBS film since Dragon Ball Super: Broly, which was a pretty major success at the global box office with a final gross of $122.7 million. While it's too early to say for sure, Toei is likely hoping the latest film will perform just as well, if not better.

Gohan is expected to take center stage in this film, with Goku, Goten, Piccolo, Vegeta, Pan, Videl, Krillin, Yajirobe, Bulma, Trunks, Android 18, Broly, Korin, Dende, Beerus, Whis, Frieza, Majin Buu, and Cell all also expected to appear.

The Red Ribbon Army, the evil organization that was once destroyed by Goku in the past, has been reformed by a group of people who have created new and mightier Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, and are seeking revenge. Piccolo notices the disturbing activity, and sneaks into the Red Ribbon base, where he discovers an unimaginable 'ultimate evil weapon', while Gohan is lured to join the fight with Pan getting kidnapped.
