The romantic comedy genre in manga and anime is always guaranteed to receive some laughs and be praised for the show's heart. What makes rom-coms so unique in Japan, specifically, has been the setting of high school; for whatever reason, Japan has somehow cracked the code on mixing romance with the idea of awkward teens figuring themselves out.
Bottom-Tier Character Tomokazi is a fine example of that type of story as it centers around a young man who is great at games but hasn't quite figured out life itself; with the help of an energetic young lady, she helps him to figure out the cheat codes to life and how to find the beauty of the world around him.
Yuki Yaku's series has recently been announced to have an anime adaption, and so far, fans have gotten glimpses of teasers and some key visuals, but no release date had been set. It looks like a ton of anime is coming to ring in the new year, and Tomokazi looks like it'll be the perfect fit for its genre. We would love to hear your thoughts on the announcement in the comments below!
