Stage Play Of Video Game FINAL FANTASY X Announced

Square Enix's Final Fantasy X video game announced that there will be a kabuki stage play adaptation and released promotional videos and visuals for it!

We have some exciting news for fans of the popular video game Final Fantasy X! On Thursday, a video and image were released by the official Twitter account for the kabuki stage play adaptation of Square Enix's Final Fantasy X video game.

At the IHI Stage Around Tokyo, performances of the play will take place between March 4 and April 12.

Kabuki actor Onoe Kikunosuke V is credited with conceiving and directing the play, and he will also star in it as Tidus. Onoe Kikunosuke V will also star in the play. Onoe had previously been involved in the creation of the Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind stage production, in which she also starred.

Other cast members include Nakamura Shidō II as Auron, Onoe Matsuya II as Seymour, Baishi Nakamura IV as Lulu, Mantarō Nakamura as Luzzu and O'aka XXIII, Yonekichi Nakamura V as Yuna, Nakamura Shikan VIII as Wakka, Onoe Kikunosuke V as Young Tidus and Fayth, Kamimura Kichitarō as Rikku, Nakamura Shinobu as Yunalesca, Bandō Hikosaburō VIII as Kimahri, Nakamura Kinnosuke as Braska, and Bandō Yajūrō as Jecht.

According to the Nikkan Sports newspaper, this is the first time that a video game has been adapted into a kabuki play.

In 2001, Square Enix (then known as Square) launched Final Fantasy X for the PlayStation 2, and two years later, in 2003, they released the game's sequel, Final Fantasy X-2. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, a release that collects and remasters both games in HD, was released by Square Enix on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan in December 2013, and on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in North America in March 2014. Additionally, Square Enix distributed the collection for the PlayStation 4 in Japan, North America, and Europe in May of 2015. Following that, the company distributed it for the personal computer in May of 2016, as well as for the Xbox One and Switch in April of 2019.
