Nintendo of America has made the announcement that it will be bringing the Nintendo Live! event, which had previously only been hosted in Japan, to the United States! The company has selected Seattle as the location for the live event, which will take place in September of this year. The purpose of the Nintendo Live! events is to primarily attract families with children as well as those who may not regularly play videogames. These events typically consist of installations that have a theme park and carnival vibe to them, along with musical acts and gaming tournaments.
According to Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser:
"Fans of all ages can currently experience the unique games, characters, and worlds of Nintendo on Nintendo Switch," but "we want to expand that scope with a new experience." "With Nintendo Live 2023, we're giving attendees the opportunity to celebrate together with family, friends, and members of the wider Nintendo community in the spirit of having a good time and making memories that will last a lifetime."
Nearer to the time of the event, additional information, such as the availability of tickets and particular dates, will be disclosed. Nintendo is no new to these kinds of live events, generally teaming up with merchants throughout the country to promote the brand. However, this will be the first time that the company will organize a ticketed event expressly aimed at the general public that is not tied into a larger event.
