Crunchyroll has had a massive year, and there are still nine more months to top themselves even more. Recently, a brand new interface called Crunchyroll Beta was released for Crunchyroll Premium users to test out. The beta outlines a brand new layout that allows for customization in ways that no other streaming service has done yet.
For starters, the beta now allows the user to create their own username and chose an avatar and header that best suits them. From there, users will have lists and recommendations that are tailored directly to their personal interests. The search engine has also been optimized so that fans can better sift through their options and more easily access simulcasts. Users can also filter between subtitled or dubbed anime series and search through collections created by Crunchyroll anime experts.
The best feature so far from the new beta is in regards to users being able to create their own playlists. Now, users will be able to rename their own personalized lists of shows and integrate individual episodes to create the definitive anime playlists made to the user's liking. No other streaming service has even dared to attempt that in the same way Crunchyroll is.
Crunchyroll Beta is only available to 20% of premium users but will eventually become available to all premium subscribers and all free users in the U.S. However, fans can opt-in or out whenever they please and can leave feedback once they opt-out. This is no doubt a big step for the services. Make sure to leave detailed feedback. We would love to hear your thoughts on the beta in the comments below.
The Crunchyroll Beta is available now to all Crunchyroll Premium members.
