The isekai genre is typically described as a series where a person from the real world is transported to a world that they have never seen before and shouldn't even exist. Typically from that point, the character then encounters a cast of unique friends who help on a quest to defeat an evil enemy and maybe even return home.
Isekai is potentially one of the purest forms of escapism, and one of the newest anime released in the genre proves that it is still enjoyed by many fans. I'm Standing on a Million Lives is a manga series turned anime that follows a loner who must learn to work with others after he and two other girls are transported to a fantasy realm where they must fight to survive.
Since the premiere of the series earlier this month, there have been huge boosts in the sales numbers of the book that has inspired it. Specifically, since its premiere, the anime had boosted the sales of the manga 11x more than before the show released!
It is always an amazing sight to see when fans want to check out the source material, and this will no doubt bode incredibly well for the manga. We would love to hear your thoughts on the news or the show in the comments below!
